The merchant weekend

Every year on the first Monday of August, Icelanders get an extra day off in what is referred to as the day of the merchants, most locals leave the city on this three day weekend to go to cabins in the countryside or camping. It is a vibrant and bustling time filled with numerous events taking place all over the country.
