June 1 - Fishermen’s Day (Sjómannadagurinn)
A beloved national tradition by Reykjavik’s Old Harbour, Fishermen’s Day celebrates Iceland’s maritime heritage. It’s all free and perfect for families, expect sea creature displays, sailing, live entertainment, games, and sea-themed activities. A true taste of local culture.
June 2–8 - Reykjavík Fringe Festival

June 6 – Belonging
Six foreign-born stand-up comedians living in Iceland ask if they can ever really belong on this island. Hosted by RVK Fringe Award winning comedian, Dan Roh, join this dynamic group of award-winning comedians as they let you into what life is really like as an immigrant in one of the world's most popular destinations. June 7 - Midnight Sun Kiki Ball
Experience the electrifying world of Ballroom culture! This queer celebration features high-energy fashion, dance battles, lip-sync, and dazzling outfits. With legendary figures from across Europe and a DJ afterparty, it’s a night to remember and the official Fringe Festival afterparty!
June 7 - Wardruna at Harpa
Norwegian group Wardruna brings ancient runes and folklore to life through haunting melodies and primal instruments. A truly atmospheric concert that blends history, nature and sound in Harpa’s majestic setting.
June 7 - Dansgala: Dance Show & Ball of the Year
Ballroom meets live music at this glamorous night of dance at Harpa. See top international dancers perform, then hit the floor yourself with music by Regína Ósk, Svenni and Bjarni Ara. Dress to impress and enjoy the magic!
June 13–18 - Viking Festival in Hafnarfjörður
Step back in time at Iceland’s biggest Viking market! In Víðistaðatún Park, the Viking village comes alive with storytelling, crafts, food, fighting shows and plenty of fun for the whole family. Perfect for a day trip just outside Reykjavik.
June 17 - Iceland’s National Day

June 19 - Life in This House is Over
A powerful dance-theatre piece at Tjarnarbíó inspired by Anton Chekhov and the emotional awkwardness of grief. This international collaboration between artists from Poland, Germany, and Iceland blends movement, sound and reflection.
June 21 - LÓA: Reykjavík Music & Food Festival
Big vibes and big flavors come together in Laugardalur for this all-day festival featuring food trucks and an epic music lineup. Acts include Jamie XX, De La Soul, Mobb Deep, Yasiin Bey, GDRN and more. All ages welcome (with adult).
