This incredible event, which first took place in 1996, has quickly become a beloved tradition that brings the entire city alive. It's a time when artists, residents, and business owners unite to throw the most epic party right in the heart of the city centre.
So, join in on the fun and let's create unforgettable memories together as we embrace the diverse and dynamic cultural wonders that Reykjavík has to offer! To ensure everyone's safety and create a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere, the city centre will be temporarily closed to traffic; for more info, click here.
Starting from 7:00 in the morning on Saturday, August 19, the closures will be in effect, allowing everyone to freely roam and enjoy the festivities. Don't worry, though! By around 1:00 after midnight, the city centre will once again open its streets to car traffic.
