Grandi is growing
We are adding a few new floors and plenty of new rooms to Grandi by Center Hotels. The construction in underway and we plan on finalizing everything in early 2026. Once finished, Grandi will have 255 rooms in total. Bookings will open from February 1st 2026. With the extension, we are adding 30 new rooms to the hotel. 25 standard and 5 standard plus. They'll have the similar look and feel as our current Granda rooms, stylish and comfortable. /September 2025.
Renovating Plaza rooms
We've been giving the rooms at Plaza a fresh new look - and we're not done yet. Right now, we're renovating our standard and standard plus rooms, set to be ready by summer 2026. With the rooms we've already renovated and the ones currently underway - we'll have a total of 97 renovated rooms. The makeover includes all-new furniture, fresh paint and updated flooring - a full refresh look from top to bottom. / August 2025.
Green key certified
A while ago, we made a conscious decision to become sustainably responsible and that's why we committed ourselves to the Green Key project – a journey that meant rethinking the way we operate and making real changes across our hotels. As a result, our hotels now carries the Green Key certification, an international eco-label that recognizes genuine efforts in environmental responsibility and sustainable tourism. For us, it’s about more than a label - it’s about doing our part to protect Iceland while welcoming guests to the heart of Reykjavík. / May 2025.
Fresh look, same SKÝ vibes
Our rooftop bar; SKÝ Lounge & Bar received a refreshed look recently with new flooring, fresh paint and updated furniture. This popular rooftop bar offers a great selection of drinks, along with stunning views over the city and sea – all right in the heart of Reykjavík.
New Plaza look, new vibe
The lobby & lounge at Center Hotels Plaza has undergone a stunning transformation with a brand new look. With a fresh and modern design, our new lobby boasts a stylish and comfortable atmosphere making guests feel right at home from the moment they step through our doors. The redesigned area features chic and contemporary décor with a bar, comfy sofas, chairs, fire place and shelf's filled with items connect to Iceland and all that is Icelandic. A large table with ideal setting for working or enjoying alone time in the computer as well as large cupboards to leave luggage after checking out while exploring the city center.
New Grandi spa & Gym
Designed with comfort and relaxation in mind, the Grandi Spa provides a full-on wellness experience with it's gorgeous design and spacious layout. Among the facilities are massage rooms, a lounge area equipped with comfortable seating and warmed by the ambient light fireplace. Additionally the spa includes two hot tubs, set at different temperatures. Above these hot tubs is an open skylight that allows natural light to filter in offering guests the unique opportunity to view the sky while enjoying the warm waters.
Renovated Plaza rooms
Center Hotels Plaza has 255 rooms in total and so a regular renovation on rooms at the hotel is something we do as often as we can. As for now, we are in the process of starting to renovate 79 rooms at the hotel. With the renovation, the rooms will have a complete makeover with new furniture, paint and flooring.
